COLBY, Kan. – Strong weeks for ranked Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Softball teams were led by the Week 4 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Softball Players of the Week, as Kansas City Kansas Community College infielder Austyn Hartman and Johnson County pitcher Kyleigh Whitehurst both earned their first honors of the season.

Austyn Hartman – KCKCC (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Player of the Week)
Hartman had a monster doubleheader for KCKCC against North Central Missouri, hitting a home run in both ends of the twin bill and finishing with four hits in six at-bats while driving in six runs. After going a perfect three-for-three with one home run and four RBI in game one against the Pirates, Hartman added another hit, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBI in the second game with NCMC to help the Blue Devils earn the sweep. For the week, Hartman had a 1.667 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage.

Kyleigh Whitehurst – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Kyleigh Whitehurst earned two victories for JCCC at the Branson Bash over the weekend as part of a 3-1 weekend for the Cavaliers. The freshman allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) over eight innings and struck out two batters in a 3-2 win over Des Moines Area on Friday before throwing in the circle again on Saturday, where she surrendered nine hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings with six strikeouts in a win over Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.
