KJCCC Division 2 Softball Players of the Week - Week 9
COLBY, Kan. – A busy week across the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Softball landscape has led to KJCCC D2 Softball Player of the Week honors for Cowley College’s Taverli Tennant and Cloud County’s Maddie Harold as week nine winners.
Taverli Tennant – Cowley (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Player of the Week)
Tennant helped a Cowley offensive surge at the plate that scored 56 runs across four games last week, going a perfect 4-0 across a pair of KJCCC doubleheaders against Independence and Coffeyville. For the week, Tennant hit .615 with six extra-base hits as part of an eight-for-13 performance at the plate while driving in nine runs and scoring seven times. Tennant also stole three bases and was perfect defensively, recording four putouts and seven assists.
Maddie Harold – Cloud County (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Cloud County freshman Maddie Harold earned two wins in the circle in KJCCC play last week, leading the T-Birds to victories over Neosho County and Fort Scott. Harold pitched a complete game in a 13-3 victory over Neosho County, allowing just three earned runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts. The next day, Harold came out of the bullpen to throw 4.2 innings against Fort Scott, holding the Greyhounds to no runs on two hits with seven strikeouts. Across three games, Harold struck out 17 and finished the week with a 3.13 ERA. Harold currently leads KJCCC D2 with 7.92 strikeouts per seven innings pitched.
