Of the four teams that are ranked in the poll, three teams remain ranked after being featured in the preseason polls, while newcomer Hutchinson finds itself ranked for the first time this year following a 10-2 start to their season.
With ranked teams having played anywhere from zero games to as many as 23 games in the opening month of play, the highest-ranked KJCCC team in the week one poll is Johnson County Community College after seeing the Cavaliers open their season with four games in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and going 2-2 with wins over Enterprise State and Coastal Alabama-South. The next highest-ranked team from the conference in the NJCAA Division 2 poll is Cowley with the number 18 ranking after splitting each of their first six games of the season, which included matchups with Division 1-ranked foes Paris Junior College and Temple College. Kansas City Kansas Community College has yet to start its season and remains ranked number 19 in the first poll of the season, which is unchanged from its preseason ranking.
