Johnson County, KCKCC Featured In Latest NJCAA Division 2 Softball Rankings
NJCAA Division 2 Softball Week 4 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – As non-conference play continues for Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 softball teams, Johnson County Community College and Kansas City Kansas Community College continue to represent the league by being featured in the latest NJCAA Division 2 Softball top 25 poll released on Monday, March 16th.
This week’s rankings find the Cavaliers as the lone ranked team from the KJCCC while Kansas City Kansas is receiving votes after both teams took on ranked foes from NJCAA Region 11 (Iowa) last week in home doubleheaders.
The Week four poll has Johnson County down two spots from last week and ranked number 13 this week after splitting a doubleheader with North Iowa Area Community College before dropping a pair of games to Kirkwood Community College. Kansas City Kansas Community College also took on NIACC and Kirkwood in non-conference action last week and was unable to secure a win over the number 16 ranked Trojans or number four ranked Eagles.
There is no shortage of action this week as multiple schools are on spring break and teams are looking to take full advantage of the last week before starting non-conference play. Allen, Labette, and Cloud County are all scheduled to host non-conference doubleheaders on Tuesday to kick off the week’s action for D2 softball teams before seeing Kansas City Kansas and Coffeyville host non-conference doubleheaders on Wednesday. Both Johnson County and Cowley will see their first action of the week take place on Thursday at home as part of eight games taking place involving KJCCC D2 teams before the weekend which will feature another 16 games across the division between Friday and Sunday.
