2025-26 KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 13
COLBY, Kan. – Unbeaten weeks for Seward County Community College and Johnson County Community College have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for Lady Saint Avery Marchino and Cavalier Kara Stricklin.
Avery Marchino – Seward County (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Sophomore guard Avery Marchino helped the Lady Saints to a 2-0 week as they defeated Pratt at home and Fort Hays Tech Northwest on the road. On the week, Marchino averaged 24.5 points per game, 10.5 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game. Marchino posted double-doubles in both games, scoring 26 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in the win over Pratt before scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds at Fort Hays Tech. Marchino leads the league in scoring and has 14 games of 20 or more points this season.
Kara Stricklin – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Kara Stricklin poured in 25 points to lead the top-ranked Johnson County Community College women’s basketball team to a 108-39 rout over Highland Community College. With the win, JCCC improved to 25-0 on the season as Stricklin connected on nine-of-12 shots from the field, including five-of-seven from three-point range. The 25-point outing tied Stricklin's career high while the sophomore also contributed six assists and five rebounds in the victory.
