2025-26 KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 5
COLBY, Kan. – Leading their respective teams to 2-0 weeks last week, Coffeyville Community College guard Esme Smith and Johnson County Community College freshman Jade Warren have each been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Week 5 Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Esme Smith - Coffeyville (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Red Raven freshman Esme Smith recorded double-doubles in both games for number 25 Coffeyville last week as the CCC earned a road win at Seward County and a home win over Barton. In the Ravens' 55-45 victory at Seward, Smith scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while shooting 70 percent from the floor. Four days later in Coffeyville's 67-45 victory over Barton, Smith excelled again with another 15-point, 11-rebound double-double to help the Red Ravens improve to 9-1 overall. For the season, Smith is averaging 13.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per contest.
Jade Warren – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Freshman guard Jade Warren came off the bench to spark the Cavaliers with 19 points and seven rebounds in an 85-57 win over Wabash Valley and helped lead a balanced attack with 16 points in a 107-35 route of Sauk Valley last weekend at the Moberly Area Classic. Warren connected on 52 percent of her shot attempts over the two contests, helping JCCC improve to a perfect 11-0 this season.
