7 KJCCC Women's Basketball Teams Remain Ranked In Week Three NJCAA Top 25 Polls
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 3 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 3 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – After having both of the number one ranked teams in last week’s NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Women’s Basketball Top 25 polls, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference saw its seven ranked teams hold course last week to maintain their spots in the latest NJCAA rankings released on Monday, November 24th.
In addition to all seven ranked teams from last week remaining ranked in this week’s polls, Neosho County Community College has worked its way back into the list of teams receiving votes in the NJCAA Division 2 Top 25 poll after winning two games last week to extend its winning streak to four-straight games.
Following their first number one ranking in program history, Dodge City Community College made sure to keep their grip on the top ranking of the latest NJCAA Division 1 top 25 as the Conquistadors picked up a road win over Barton and home win over Cowley last week to receive 225 points and all 11 first-place votes following their 7-0 start to the season. Making a three-spot move up to number 11 was Butler Community College as the Grizzlies earned two ranked wins last week by defeating Coffeyville and Hutchinson to improve to 7-0 ahead of a lighter week this week on the schedule. Hutchinson’s road loss to Butler was partially offset by a home win over Garden City as the Blue Dragons fell two spots down to number 20 following their second loss of the year while Coffeyville dropped one spot from number 24 down to number 25 following a resounding home win over Independence to close out the week.
Just one change occurred among KJCCC schools in the latest Division 2 Top 25 poll, with Johnson County and Allen both maintaining their top 10 rankings as the Cavaliers (number one) and Red Devils (number nine) are a combined 16-0 this season. Back-to-back losses for Kansas City Kansas Community College against Crowder College and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M sends the Blue Devils down six spots down to number 25 this week, with three of the four losses coming to either NJCAA Division 1 programs or teams that are ranked in the latest NJCAA Division 2 poll.
With a week of conference play already in the books for KJCCC D1 teams, another busy week of action is in store as one game in Division 2 on Monday night will make way for an eight-game Tuesday with 14 conference schools in action. All teams will then be off for the Thanksgiving holiday break until Friday, when three KJCCC D2 teams resume action with road classics before seeing a busy Saturday with 16 different teams in action throughout the day, including a six-game Division 1 slate between conference teams.
