Six KJCCC Women's Basketball Teams Featured In First NJCAA Rankings Of 2026
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 7 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 7 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – The first NJCAA women’s basketball top 25 polls of 2026 have been released, with six Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools finding themselves ranked following the resumption of action last weekend.
With the last poll having been released on December 15th, the Week 7 poll comes with a return of the weekly polls for the remainder of the regular season as three KJCCC teams are ranked in both the NJCAA D1 women’s basketball poll and NJCAA D2 women’s basketball poll.
Showing little rust in their first game back by earning a 107-37 drubbing of Fort Hays Tech Northwest, Dodge City continues its stronghold on the number one ranking in the Division 1 poll by securing all 12 first-place votes to be the unanimously top-ranked team with a 13-0 record. Earning a road win at Barton for their fourth-straight victory, Butler holds steady at number 14 in the latest rankings, while Hutchinson used a 64-55 road win at Colby to move up two spots to number 17 in the latest rankings.
Just like the Division 1 top-25 poll, there was no change to the top of the NJCAA Division 2 women’s basketball poll as Johnson County improved to 16-0 last Friday with a 11-0-38 home win over Treasure Valley Community College. The Cavaliers will play their final two non-conference games of the regular season this coming week as JCCC has won 84 of its past 86 games over the last two-plus seasons. Making a three-spot move up to number 15 this week is Kansas City Kansas, as the Blue Devils are 11-4 this season and winners of five straight dating back to November 25th. Following a home loss to Treasure Valley Community College, Allen remains ranked but falls nine spots down to number 25 in this week’s poll ahead of their non-conference finale coming up this week.
The final week of non-conference action for KJCCC Division 2 teams is paired with more action between conference foes in Division 1 play as 19 games are scheduled across the league beginning tonight. Officially kicking off the week for the conference last night were wins by Highland (at Metropolitan CC) and Neosho County (at St. Louis CC), while Allen will take on Crowder College tonight in the lone game across all conference sports on Tuesday. A seven-game slate is set for Wednesday, including six matchups between conference schools that will see all three ranked Division 1 teams at home. Two more games at the Division 2 level on Friday sets up an eight-game Saturday, which is highlighted by a ranked matchup between Dodge City and Butler in El Dorado. The week will conclude Sunday afternoon with Division 2 top-ranked Johnson County hosting the Graceland University JV team, as all 20 conference schools will have conference matchups taking place the following week.
