2016 KJCCC Women's Soccer Players of the Week, Week 1

Sophomore Jordan Downing posted her second career hat trick and converted two penalty kicks to lift the Hutchinson Blue Dragons to a 2-0 weekend in Oklahoma. Downing had a seven-point game with three goals and an assist to lead HCC to a 10-0 victory in the 2016 season opener over North Lake. One of those goals was a penalty kick. On Sunday against Rose State, Downing scored the only goal of the contest on another penalty kick in the 22nd minute.

After not seeing any action on Saturday, sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Howard played a huge role in Hutchinson's 1-0 win over Rose State. Howard made 11 saves, including nine in the second half to preserve HCC's 1-0 victory. She made three critical saves on point-blank shots in the second half.
