KJCCC Kansas MTXE Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week, Wk. 1

Kennedy Weaver, Butler, had a sensational start to her 2017 sophomore campaign with four goals at #6 Iowa Western.  She was then able to add a fifth goal in a 2-3 loss to #14 NOC-Tonkawa.  Kennedy has five goals in the Grizzlies' first three matches. 

Sophomore Ashley Main, Hutchinson, posted her first career shutout with a career-best five saves to lead the Blue Dragons to a 3-0 season-opening win over Northeast CC. Main was strong in net, making three impressive saves on point-blank Hawks shots. 

Sophomore Elena Garcia, Butler, was able to pick up the first wins on the season for the #7 Grizzlies.  Garcia made a highlight PK save to preserve her first shutout of the season vs Rose State.
