KJCCC Kansas MTXE Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week, Week 9, 2017

Larissa Fagundes had an eight point week leading Barton to two victories over conference opponents while keeping the Lady Cougars' playoff hopes alive headed to the final regular season game.  In Wednesday's 5-2 upset victory over No. 20 Northwest Kansas Technical College, Fagundes registered five points, giving Barton a first half 1-0 lead then in second half play, scored the equalizer when momentum had shifted to the Mavericks to provide the spark leading the comeback before later distributing the final goal for the win.  Fagundes concluded her week with a three point effort in the Lady Cougars' home finale as the team's assist and goal scoring leader distributed her sixth assist of the season for a three goal lead before halftime then netted her fourteenth goal early in the second half play to push the lead out to 4-0.

Continuing to play her best against stiff competition, Barton goalkeeper Reyna Gonzalez turned back six shots to protect Wednesday's 5-2 upset victory over No. 20 Northwest Kansas Technical College.  Gonzalez' performance yielded just two goals, both coming against the reigning conference and national player of the week as Adrijane Felix drilled an early second half penalty kick before seven minutes later connecting on a back post net shaker finishing off a perfectly placed through ball.
