Johnson County Women's Soccer Picked To Win KJCCC D2 Women's Soccer Regular Season Crown
COLBY, Kan. – Finishing each of the past two seasons as NJCAA D2 Women’s Soccer National Runners-Up, the Johnson County Community College women’s soccer team has been picked to win their third-consecutive Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference regular season title as part of the 2025 KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer predicted order of finish.
Each of the league’s six coaches took part in the preseason poll, which saw the Cavaliers receive 29 points and four of six possible first-place votes as JCCC has posted a combined 37-5-6 overall record the past two seasons. Last year, Johnson County was unbeaten until the National Championship game where the Cavaliers fell by a score of 2-0 to Northwest Mississippi Community College in a battle of unbeaten teams in the National Title match.
Another team that boasted an unbeaten regular season last year, Kansas City Kansas Community College was picked to finish second by receiving 25 total points and one of the two remaining first place votes as the Blue Devils make the move to NJCAA D2 women’s soccer play for the first time after qualifying for the NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer National Tournament for only the second time in program history. KCKCC went on to play to a 2-2 tie against Hill College before falling 2-0 to Arizona Western at the National Tournament and ending the season with a 14-2-6 overall record.
Receiving the last remaining first-place vote was Neosho County, as the Panthers earned 21 points in the poll to be picked third in the preseason after finishing second in the KJCCC D2 women’s soccer standings last year, with their only two conference defeats coming against Johnson County. Following the Panthers is Allen with 18 total points, along with fifth-place preseason Pratt (15 points) and sixth-place preseason Pratt (12 points).
Three of the six KJCCC teams will begin their season on the opening day of NJCAA competition with Kansas City Kansas traveling to Triton College, Highland heading to Metropolitan Community College and Pratt making the trek down to El Reno, OK to take on Redlands Community College. The following day will see Neosho County take on Schoolcraft College in a neutral site match in Indianapolis, IN while Johnson County will kick off their season the following day at home against Southwestern Illinois College. Allen, the final KJCCC D2 women’s soccer team to start their season, will open their 2025 campaign on Sunday, August 24th with a road match at NJCAA D3 women’s soccer contender Dallas College Richland.
NJCAA Region 6/9 play will begin on Saturday, September 6th as Allen will take on Neosho County, Pratt will travel to Highland, and Kansas City Kansas will host Southeast Community College out of NJCAA Region 9. Each of the seven schools will play a 12-match region schedule with the top four advancing to the postseason with the Region 6/9 Champion slated to take on the NJCAA Region 11 Champion in the 2025 NJCAA D2 Women’s Soccer Plains District Championship match with the winner earning an automatic bid to the 2025 NJCAA D2 Women’s Soccer National Tournament in Wichita, KS.
