2025 KJCCC D2 Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 10
COLBY, Kan. – Finishing off an unbeaten regular season with a shutout win over nationally ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College, the Johnson County Community College women’s soccer team has swept the final Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards with Ashley Chaput and Avery Young earning this week’s accolades.
Ashley Chaput (Johnson County) – KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Johnson County center back Ashley Chaput played a pivotal role in helping the top-ranked Cavaliers overpower number 12 Kansas City Kansas, to clinch their third consecutive conference title. Defensively, Chaput anchored a back line that shut down the Blue Devils' attack, limiting them to just three shots on goal. Offensively, Chaput was equally impressive by contributing to four of JCCC's five goals with two goals of her own and two assists. Chaput's first goal stood as the game-winner.
Avery Young (Johnson County) – KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Johnson County goalkeeper Avery Young improved to 16-0-0 on the season while registering her seventh shutout. The sophomore held 12th-ranked Kansas City Kansas scoreless, stopping all three shots she faced. Young allowed just three goals in the regular season, the third fewest in NJCAA Division 2 women's soccer, and ranks second nationally with a save percentage of .954, along with third nationally with a goals against average of 0.22.
