2025 KJCCC D2 Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 3
COLBY, Kan. – A seven-point week for Kansas City Kansas Community College defender Bayli Benson and a pair of shutout performances from Johnson County goalkeeper Avery Young have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors in week three of the 2025 season.
Bayli Benson (KCKCC) – KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Freshman defender from Topeka, Bayli Benson, had an impressive week, recording seven points on two goals and three assists in matches against Metropolitan Community College and Southeast Community College. In a 1-1 tie against Metropolitan, Benson started and assisted on the Blue Devils' lone goal. Three days later against Southeast, Benson scored in the 20th and 25th minutes and added two assists in a 10-0 victory. Benson now has two goals and a team-high six assists this season.
Avery Young (Johnson County) – KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Johnson County sophomore transfer Avery Young was outstanding between the posts, stopping all 15 shots she faced across the two matches last weekend in Florida to help JCCC shut out Pensacola State 3-0 and Mississippi Gulf Coast 1-0. Young recorded 13 saves against Mississippi Gulf Coast, a total that ties for the eighth-most in a single match in program history.
