2025 KJCCC D2 Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 5
COLBY, Kan. – The top two teams in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 women’s soccer standings, Johnson County and Kansas City Kansas Community College accounted for five total victories last week and were led by this week’s KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week winners Elissa Green and Avery Young.
Elissa Green (KCKCC) – KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Elissa Green continued her strong form, extending her scoring streak to five consecutive matches while helping Kansas City Kansas earn two victories last week. The freshman tallied a goal and an assist in KCKCC’s 5-0 win over number 20 Allen before adding two goals and an assist in a 3-1 road victory at Highland. Green contributed to five of the Blue Devils’ eight goals last week and now leads the KJCCC with 11 goals on the season.
Avery Young (Johnson County) – KJCCC D2 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Johnson County’s Avery Young continued her dominance in goal, extending her shutout streak to 596 minutes, 4 seconds. Young has not allowed a goal in her last eight starts and went 3-0-0 last week, recording one solo shutout and one combined. The sophomore opened the week by blanking Highland over the first 45 minutes in a 4-0 victory, which was then followed with an impressive five-save performance in a 2-0 shutout at Neosho County. Young capped the week by stopping both shots Pratt put on frame through 62 minutes before yielding to a teammate in a 3-0 win. For the season, Young is a perfect 9-0-0 with three solo clean sheets and four shared shutouts. Her 0.14 goals-against average leads all NJCAA Division 2 goalkeepers.
