2025 KJCCC D1 Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 9
COLBY, Kan. – Scoring her first career hat trick, Barton Community College women’s soccer player Maki Kimura has earned her first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week award and is joined by two-time award winner Evie Carvell of Hutchinson Community College.
Maki Kimura (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Maki Kimura powered the Cougar attack with four goals and an assist across two matches, helping Barton to a 1-1 week. The sophomore forward erupted for her first career hat trick and added an assist in a 5-0 conference victory over Dodge City, factoring into four of the team's five goals. Kimura capped her week converting a penalty kick for Barton's lone goal in a near 2-1 upset over number eight Cowley. For the week, Kimura totaled nine points on four goals and an assist to run her season totals to six goals and two assists.
Evie Carvell (Hutchinson) – KJCCC D1 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Hutchinson goalkeeper Evie Carvell allowed just one goal in 180 minutes to lead the number 18-ranked Blue Dragons to a 1-0-1 week last week. For the week, Carvell had five total saves and a save percentage of .883 while pitching her fourth shutout of the season in a two-save performance in a 1-0 victory over Seward County. Carvell had three saves in a 1-1 home draw with Butler three days later in a battle of the second and third-place teams in the KJCCC standings.
