Johnson County Women's Soccer Wins Third-Straight KJCCC Title, Earns Top Seed In NJCAA Region 6/9 Tournament
COLBY, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College women’s soccer team has won its third-straight Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Women’s Soccer regular season title and has earned the top seed in the 2025 NJCAA Region 6/9 Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, October 29th.
Finishing the regular season with an unblemished 18-0-0 record, the Cavaliers are currently the number one-ranked team in the NJCAA Division 2 women’s soccer poll and allowed just four goals this season while scoring 87 goals of their own. In NJCAA Region 6/9 play, JCCC allowed only two goals and enters the postseason having shut out each of its final five opponents.
Other teams to reach the 2025 NJCAA Region 6/9 Division 2 women’s soccer tournament include number two seed Kansas City Kansas Community College, as the Blue Devils went 13-3-2 in the regular season, with two of their three losses coming to Johnson County. Outside of their matches with Johnson County, KCKCC went 9-0-1 against the remaining five Region 6/9 opponents and outscored foes 42-6, with only one other opponent being able to score multiple goals on the Blue Devils. Neosho County will enter the tournament as the number three seed after finishing Region 6/9 play with a 3-5-2 mark to finish the regular season 7-7-2 overall, while Allen Community College earned a berth with a 4-0 win over Pratt on Saturday in their regular season finale to secure the number four seed.
The 2025 NJCAA Region 6/9 postseason tournament will begin on Wednesday, October 29th, as the top four teams in the final regular season standings of NJCAA Region 6/9 will play a single-elimination tournament with all games being played at the higher seed. Opening round games will see number one seed Johnson County host four seed Allen at 6 PM, while the other semifinal matchup will feature number two seed Kansas City Kansas Community College play host to three seed Neosho County at 6 PM. The two winners will face off on Saturday, November 1st, at the highest remaining seed, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer Plains District Tournament title game against the winner of the NJCAA Region 11/13 tournament on Saturday, November 8th. This year, NJCAA Region 11 is scheduled to host the Plains District Title game, with opponent, location, and time to be determined following the NJCAA Region 11 D2 Women’s Soccer Title game on Saturday, November 1st. Remaining teams in the Region 11 Tournament include top-seeded Iowa Lakes, second-seeded Northeast (Nebraska), third-seeded Iowa Central, and fourth-seeded Hawkeye Community College.
