Minor Changes For Four KJCCC Women's Soccer Teams Come As Part Of NJCAA Week 4 Rankings
NJCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – As conference play heats up for Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools, three KJCCC teams earned one spot improvements in the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Women’s Soccer top 20 polls as five total teams from the conference are ranked or receiving votes in the Week 4 rankings.
Within the NJCAA Division 1 rankings, all three teams that were ranked last week have seen changes to their ranking following a busy week of action. After starting the week with Cowley defeating Butler and Barton upsetting Garden City, Cowley and Garden City played to a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon in Garden City, which has led to the Tigers moving up one spot to seventh and the Broncbusters managing to receive votes this week after being ranked number 20 in last week’s poll. Also ranked from the KJCCC is Hutchinson Community College after the Blue Dragons had their first match of the week suspended with 10 minutes left in the first half against Dodge City before defeating Seward County 5-2 to improve to 5-1-0 and up one spot to 12th in the latest rankings.
Separation has begun to occur within the KJCCC Division 2 standings as Johnson County had a perfect 3-0 week with wins over Highland, Neosho County, and Pratt to improve to 9-0 on the season and remain ranked number two in the NJCAA Division 2 top 20 poll. Kansas City Kansas went unbeaten as well last week with wins over Allen and Highland to remain unbeaten in conference play and move up one spot to 10th following their fifth straight victory over the past two weeks.
Looking ahead at this week’s KJCCC women’s soccer schedule, all five KJCCC teams that appeared in this week’s NJCAA polls will be in action on Wednesday, with three of the five teams (Garden City, Johnson County, Hutchinson) all playing on the road. Saturday will feature a pair of ranked matchups in the league, with Garden City hosting Hutchinson at 1 PM before seeing Johnson County host KCKCC later in the afternoon in Overland Park for a 5 PM kickoff.
