KJCCC Women's Soccer Set To Enter Final Month Of Regular Season With Three Ranked Teams
NJCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Heading into the final month of the regular season, four Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference women’s soccer teams are ranked or receiving votes in their respective NJCAA Women’s Soccer top 20 polls.
The latest polls continue to see changes for KJCCC schools as results from both inside and outside the conference influence rankings for teams across the country. After seeing as many as six teams from the KJCCC featured in the first three polls of the regular season, conference play has begun to wreak havoc on the conference with weekly results constantly shifting the overall conference standings.
There was just one minor change for the KJCCC within the NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer top 20 poll this week as Kansas City Kansas dropped one spot down to number 11 after falling by a score of 2-0 to Johnson County in a battle of the top two teams in the KJCCC D2 standings this past Saturday. The Cavaliers, meanwhile, remain ranked number two as one of just three remaining unbeaten teams in the NJCAA Division 2 women’s soccer rankings and hold an 11-0-0 record to maintain their number two national ranking.
Looking at the NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer Top 20 poll, Cowley College has crept up once again to claim the number six national ranking while sporting an unbeaten record of 5-0-2, as five of the top six teams in the poll are currently unbeaten. Hutchinson goes from ranked to those receiving votes this week after playing to a 1-1 draw at Butler before falling to Garden City by a score of 1-0 last week, as they prepare for a two-match week with games against Barton and Cowley this week.
This week’s KJCCC women’s soccer schedule is already off and running as Barton picked up a non-conference win over Western Nebraska Community College on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a busy Wednesday that will feature eight matches across the league. Included in Wednesday’s slate is a battle of top five teams in NJCAA Division 2 women’s soccer when number two Johnson County takes on number five St. Charles Community College in one of their final non-conference matches of the week. Saturday will feature a seven-match slate, highlighted by Cowley hosting Hutchinson in Arkansas City.
