KJCCC Kansas MTXE D1 Volleyball Athletes of the Week, Week 10, 2017

Mariana Nascimento, Seward County, has come on strong to finish the season. The 2016 All-Region VI player averaged 4 kills/set while connecting on over half of her attempts, hitting .509 for this week.  Her attack percentage has helped her jumpe to 2^nd in the Lady Saints career hitting percentage and is currently hitting .455 on the season, good for 2^nd in Lady Saints single-season hitting percentage. 

Luz Sierra, Seward County, once again had a strong showing at the net, finishing with 7 blocks on the week.  On a night where it seemed Hutchinson could do no wrong, Sierra helped lift the Lady Saints with six blocks. Losing 23-24 in the second set, Sierra took control to win the final four point for Seward and give them a two set advantage.

Giovanna Kuntze, Seward County,  continued her outstanding season at the setter position this week, coming away with 107 assists in only eight sets played.  She tied a season and career-high with 54 assists in the match against Hutchinson.  In the two tight contests against the 2^nd and 3^rd place Jayhawk West opponents, Kuntze played a vital role in putting her teammates in the right position, as it showed with ther 13.38 assists per set.
