Sophomore Cassidy Crist started the season on a tear for the Kansas City Lady Blue Devils. Compiling 34 kills in three sets, she is averaging an astonishing 4.85 kills per set. She is also averaging 3.85 digs per set as a six rotation force. The Blue Devils lost a tough match to No. 14-ranked Lincoln Land when one of the team's only two middles went down and the team had to put an outside hitter in the middle position for most of the match.

McKayla Long recorded 17 digs in her first collegiate match for Hesston College in 3-0 loss versus Southeast Community College. Overall, she averaged 12.5 digs per match in the team's two game triangular to open the season.
