2021 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 6

Offense: Kayli Duncan (Butler)
Kayli Duncan, sophomore middle blocker from Wichita, KS, continued her consistent and dominant play in the middle as she helped Butler extend their winning streak to 15-straight matches with wins over Cloud and No. 10-ranked Seward this past week. Duncan hit .586 on the week totaling 21 kills in her eight sets played. She had eight kills and no errors on the road Wednesday with seven blocks and followed that up with a 13-kill, six block performance against the highly ranked Saints of Seward on Saturday in the Grizzlies five-set win. Duncan is hitting .315 on the season and .500 in KJCCC matches. Duncan hit above her average in kills per set this week finishing at 2.63 kills per set.

Setter: Nur Yaren Turkmenoglu (Dodge City)
Dodge City had a tough week of KJCCC action playing Colby and Seward County both on the road and hosting Garden City. Nur Yaren Turkmenoglu continues to orchestra the offense for the Conquistadors well as she posted a pair of 40+ assist performances with season high 46 in a tough five set lost versus Seward County and 40 against Colby while posting 38 in the win over Garden City. Over the last three matches she has also impacted things in other way for the Conquistadors with seven kills, four blocks, six aces and 52 digs as she had a double-double in all three matches.

Defense:  Ruxandra Flueras (Colby)
Ruxandra Flueras, sophomore libero from Italy, had a great defensive week helping lead the Trojans to two conference wins over Garden City and Dodge City.  She tallied 53 digs over 9 sets, averaging 5.9 digs per set.
