2021 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 8
Offense: Maria Santos (Barton)
Maria Santos led Barton’s 2-0 week hitting an efficient .577 on twenty-six swings and just one lone attack error. Recording eight kills in the five sets played, Santos was also solid defensively with ten digs and six blocks.

Setter: Macie Shaver (Butler)
Macie Shaver, sophomore setter from Sandia, TX, was solid for the Grizzlies in their four wins this past week. Shaver posted 49 assists for an average of over four per set. Shaver splits time with another Grizzly setter Rainey Aven in their 6-2 rotation. Shaver served up three aces on the week and had two kills and 15 digs.

Defense: Shelby Reeder (Hutchinson)
Hutchinson Community College sophomore libero Shelby Reeder broke the Blue Dragon single-match record for digs with 37 in a four-set victory over Jefferson College at the Grizzly Invitational in West Plains, MO. Just a couple of matches after returning to the lineup from injury, Reeder broke the only record of 36 set by Samantha Lackey in 2014 in a five-set match. Reeder now owns the Nos. 1 and 3 all-time single-match dig marks in Blue Dragon history. For the week, the sophomore from Derby, KS., averaged 5.38 digs per set in a five-match week that featured three nationally ranked teams.
