2021 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 9
Offense: Jaryn Benning (Butler)
Jaryn Benninig, junior outside hitter from Topeka, KS, led Butler to a couple more wins this past week with her strong offensive play. Benning averaged 3.8 kills per set while also serving one ace per set this past week in the Grizzlies two wins. She averaged over two digs per set and hit .278 on the week offensively. Benning is averaging 2.7 kills per set, 259 total and third in KJCCC and has a total of 34 service aces this season.

Setter: Berfin Mertcan (Seward County)
Berfin Mertcan had 70 assists in the two matches last week for Seward County Community College in their two sweeps against Otero Junior College and Garden City Community College. Mertcan averaged 11.6 assists per set, with 3.16 digs per set. Mertcan’s had a season-high five assisted blocks and added a service ace in the win for the Lady Saints.

Defense: Mylena Testoni (Barton)
All-around player Mylena Testoni led the Cougars’ 2-1 week with 6.10 digs per set and was involved in five blocks. Testoni began the week with a season high 26 digs at Colby before posting her 15th double-double of the year with 22 digs and 10 kills on a .500 attack versus Dodge City. Testoni ended her week leading the backline the 13 digs and three blocks in a short match Saturday at No. 5 Butler.
