2022 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 1
Player: Baylee Miller - Hutchinson
Hutchinson Blue Dragon sophomore outside/right-side hitter Baylee Miller twice posted career highs for kills and helped the Blue Dragons upset the nation’s No. 3 and No. 1 teams on the same day at the Reiver Classic. For the week in four matches and 17 sets, Miller hit .370 and had 3.35 kills per set. Miller had a career-high of 14 kills and 14 digs in a five-set loss to No. 19 Indian Hills on Friday. Then on Saturday, Miller had career bests of 24 kills and .537 hitting percentage in leading the Blue Dragons to a victory over No. 3 West Plains. A few hours later, Miller had 16 kills on .281 hitting in helping the Dragons earn a victory over an NJCAA Division I No. 1-ranked program with a five-set win over top-ranked and defending national champion Iowa Western.

Setter: Ytje Oosterbaan - Barton
Freshman Ytje Oosterbaan helped key Barton’s .249 attack this weekend in the Cougars’ 4-0 opener in Illinois. Running the 5-1 offense, Oosterbaan recorded 8.77 assists per set with two kills and seven service aces while defensively putting up 8 blocks and 31 digs.

Defense: Hanna Miller - Barton
Hanna Miller picked up where she left off anchoring Barton’s defensive line to a 4-0 start to the year in Illinois. Averaging 6.77 digs per set, Miller climbed into the No. 2 all-time slot in program history and closes to within 107 of the top spot.
