2022 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 7
Player: Kennedy Kelly - Butler CC
Kennedy Kelly, sophomore middle from Frisco, TX, continued her hot hitting streak as she was a strong and consistent piece for the Grizzlies in the 2-0 week with wins over Cloud and Pratt. Kelly, who leads the nation in hitting percentage upped her average this past week putting away 20 balls on just 30 attempts with one error. Kelly hit .672 on the week, .818 in Saturday’s match that saw her go 9 for 11. Kelly also totaled six blocks on the week, good for a block per set and also had three serving aces. Kelly is hitting .397 on the season in her 21 matches played.

Setter: Andrea Serrano - Hutchinson CC
Hutchinson sophomore setter Andrea Serrano averaged 8.73 assists per set to lead the Blue Dragons to a 3-0 record last week, including a sweep of No. 12 Seward County. Serrano had 37 assists against Dodge city, 35 against Dodge City – both matches were four-set wins – and 24 assists against No. 12 Seward County. Serrano added eight service aces and six total digs over the week. Serrano is averaging 6.64 sets as the lead setter in the Blue Dragons’ 6-2 offense.

Defense: Jatnna Pena - Dodge City CC
Dodge City split a pair of KJCCC matchups last week losing a tough four-set battle with Hutchinson and sweeping Garden City three-sets. Jatnna Pena continued to play strong at libero for the Conquistadors as she had a career-high 31 digs in the matchup against Hutchinson while adding five assists and an ace. In the win over Garden City she posted 11 digs with an ace and two assists. On the season Pena has 286 digs, while adding 23 aces and 19 assists.
