2023 KJCCC Volleyball Division I Athletes of the Week - Week 1
Offensive Player: Celia Mbaya (Colby)
Freshman Outside Hitter, Celia Mbaya, from Saint Brieuc, France, had an excellent weekend in Beatrice, Nebraska, helping to lead the Colby Trojans to a 4-0 start. Mbaya tallied 47 kills over 12 sets, averaging 3.92 kills per set. Mbaya also had 10 aces over the weekend, averaging .833 per set. Her personal best and first double-double of the year came against Western Iowa Tech, where she had 13 kills, 11 digs, and 3 aces.

Setter: Tola Maczka (Garden City)
Garden City opened the season going 3-1 at their home tournament and sophomore, Tola Maczka helped set the offense in motion for the Broncbusters. Maczka recorded 30+ assists in three of the four matches finishing with 165 assists over 15 sets played for an 11 assists per set average. She added 11 kills, four blocks, 42 digs, and five aces over the course of the tournament.

Defensive Player: Vitoria Stedile (Garden City)
Garden City opened the season going 3-1 at their home tournament and freshman, Vitoria Stedile anchored the back row for the Broncbusters playing the libero position. Stedile recorded 93 digs over four matches including 34 digs against Eastern Wyoming; she averaged 6.2 digs per set over 15 sets played at the tournament. She would add nine aces to her performance for the Broncbusters.
