COLBY, Kan. – Unbeaten weeks last week for the Hutchinson Community College and Barton Community College volleyball teams have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Volleyball Player of the Week honors for Blue Dragon players Jaylynn McNeill and Clara Oliveira, along with Cougar setter Ori Briger.  

Jaylynn McNeill (Hutchinson) - KJCCC D1 Volleyball Player of the Week
In Hutchinson's lone match of the week, sophomore right-side hitter Jaylynn McNeill had 14 kills on .370 hitting in a four-set victory over Seward County. Down 19-14 in the fourth, McNeill carried the Blue Dragons to a 25-22 match-clinching win with six kills on nine attacks in the set.

Ori Briger (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Setter of the Week
Sophomore setter Ori Briger ran the first wave of Barton's 6-2 offense to guide the sixth-ranked Cougars to a pair of conference wins last week, helping Barton sweep Pratt before dispatching 13th-ranked Colby in five sets to remain in control of their KJCCC title hopes. Across eight sets, Briger averaged 5.63 assists per set while totaling 45 assists, 13 digs, and a service ace. Briger opened the week with 21 assists and two digs in the sweep over Pratt, then followed with her 10th double-double of the year by putting up 24 assists and 11 digs in Saturday's five-set victory over Colby, continuing to provide steady court direction and defensive support in Barton's offensive system.

Clara Oliveira (Hutchinson) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
In Hutchinson's lone match of the week, freshman Libero Clara Oliveira had 35 digs in a four-set victory over Seward County. This was Oliveira's third match this season with 30 or more digs and helped the Blue Dragons continue to battle for conference tournament seeding.
