2025 KJCCC D1 Volleyball Players of the Week - Week 4
COLBY, Kan. Five-match weeks for Barton Community College and Colby Community College, which featured matches against top-10 foes, led to big performances and Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Volleyball Player of the Week honors for Cougars Stasa Stamenkovic and Mia Kaneko along with Trojan Amanda Caputi.
Stasa Stamenkovic (Barton) - KJCCC D1 Volleyball Player of the Week
Freshman outside hitter Stasa Stamenkovic fueled the number three Cougars through a five-match stretch that included a conference road win at Dodge City and four contests at the Sheila Worley Invitational in Sterling, Colorado, featuring a pair of top-10 opponents. Stamenkovic reached double-digit kills in four matches to average 4.31 kills on .333 hitting across 16 sets. Adding 5 service aces and 6 blocks, Stamenkovic averaged 3.38 digs per set in posting three double-doubles on the week. After opening with a career high 20 kills with 15 digs at Dodge City, Stamenkovic followed with 15 kills and 12 digs in a sweep of Laramie County. The Serbia native added 12 kills on .417 hitting against number nine Odessa and closed with 14 kills and 13 digs against number five Northeastern Junior College.
Amanda Caputi (Colby) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Setter of the Week
Amanda Caputi was the engine behind Colby's offense this week, averaging an impressive 11.41 assists per set across five matches. The sophomore totaled 194 assists, highlighted by 49 against number nine Odessa and 42 against number 15 New Mexico Military Institute, keeping the Trojans' attack balanced and efficient. Caputi also added value at the net and from the service line, contributing 13 kills on a .394 hitting percentage, four service aces, and seven total blocks, while chipping in 34 digs defensively.
Mia Kaneko (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Sophomore libero Mina Kaneko anchored the third-ranked Cougars' back row through a five-match stretch that included a conference road win at Dodge City and four contests at the Sheila Worley Invitational in Sterling, Colorado, that featured a pair of top 10 opponents. Kaneko was solid in committing just four reception errors (.959) while averaging 4.25 digs per set, finishing with 68 total digs over 16 sets in addition to providing 16 assists and one service ace.
