COLBY, Kan. Following a week focused on Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference volleyball matchups, Seward County sophomore Mariana Silva, Colby Community College sophomore Amanda Caputi, and Garden City Community College freshman Daniela Noeueira have all earned KJCCC D1 Volleyball Player of the Week honors for week five.

Mariana Silva (Seward County) - KJCCC D1 Volleyball Player of the Week
Silva was once again the key cog in the Saints' offense last week, helping the Saints finish 1-1 with a road loss at Garden City and a home win over Cloud County. After starting her week with 15 kills and six digs in a four-set loss at Garden City, Silva tied a career-high with 25 kills in a home sweep of Cloud County. The sophomore recorded a .347 hitting percentage and added two service aces and one block in a sweep of the Thunderbirds to finish the week with 40 kills across two matches while adding 10 digs and two blocks.

Amanda Caputi (Colby) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Setter of the Week
Caputi was steady and effective over two matches for Colby as the Trojans remained unbeaten in KJCCC play with wins over Dodge City and Butler. The sophomore totaled 82 assists across six sets, averaging 13.67 assists per set to guide Colby's .299 team hitting percentage for the week. In the win over Dodge City, Caputi dished out 49 assists along with 6 digs, one block, and one service ace. Caputi followed two days later with 33 assists, five digs, and five blocks in a road sweep at Butler.

Daniela Nogueira (Garden City) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Daniella Nogueira anchored the Broncbuster defense with back-to-back standout efforts as GCCC went 2-0 last week with wins over KJCCC foes. The freshman recorded 24 digs against Seward County to go along with 35 receptions in 36 attempts and followed it up with a 30-dig performance at Dodge City, providing relentless coverage in the back row to keep the Broncbusters up towards the top of the KJCCC standings.
