2025 KJCCC Cross Country Runners of the Week - Week 7
COLBY, Kan. – After setting a new Hutchinson Community College 5K record for the second time this season, Blue Dragon freshman Mildred Rono has earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week honors and is joined by first-time award winner Butler Community College’s S’fiso Makolomakwa.
Mildred Rono (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Hutchinson Community College freshman Mildred Rono broke the Blue Dragon women's cross country 5K record for the second time this season, posting a time of 15:41.1 in a second-place finish at the FHSU Tiger Open in Hays on Saturday. Rono just missed her third race victory of the season by 1.1 seconds.
S'fiso Makolomakwa (Butler) – KJCCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Butler sophomore S'fiso Makolomakwa finished in fourth place out of 401 participants at the Old Glory Gallop in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday. Makolomakwa finished the 8K race with a time of 24:04.24, recording a 16-second personal record. The fourth-place finish helped the Grizzlies finish in first place as a team out of 38 scoring teams.
