Region 6 Softball Minutes

Meeting 1-21-05

 

 

In Attendance:  Shannon Tanner, Tom Curtis, Andre Favors, Doug Chance, Aron Potter, Aaron Acree, Carl Adams, Ed Hargrove, Ed Zyburt, Bridget Keeting, Phil Terpstra, Heide Jordan, Jamie Klien, Frank Barnes,  Devon Cross, Ryan Phillips, Jeff Dabney, Ron Hill, Andrea Gustafson.

 

Abscent:  Casey Tillary (KCK)

 

 

Bryce Roderick talked to coaches about Region tournament and KJCCC web site.  Introduced Russ Carne to Region coaches.  Russ talked about Web site, and asked coaches for input on what they wanted as far as statistical information posted on site.  Coaches decided to send in top stat getters in two categories.  Offense:  Home Runs, RBI’s , Batting Avg.,  and Stolen Bases.   Pitching:  Strike outs,  Win/Loss, ERA, Innings Pitched.   The West will send top people to Ron Hill via E-mail starting the 7th of April,  The East will send top people to Shannon Tanner via E-mail stating the 7th of April.    Ron Hill will devise a form that will be sent out every Monday morning starting on the 7th.  Coaches will simply need to put their top player in each category and send them back.  After Ron and Shannon receive players they will go through them and send top players to Russ for posting.

 

 

Motion made by Frank Barnes:  Jayhawk Conference Coache’s Association restructuring Board of Directors Proposal.   Doug Chance Seconded motion, Vote was unanimous to pass.

 

Elected new officers: 

 

Association President-  Aron Potter

Vice –President- will be appointed by Group of Directors

Board of Directors:  Division 1-  Andrea Gustafuson

                                    South-  Jeff Dabne

                                    West- Jamie Klien

                                    North-  Shannon Tanner

Association Secretary-  Ron Hill

 

 

 

Region Dates:   Division 1  May 1rst at top seeds home.  Winner plays off with winner of Region 9.

 

                           Division 2  May 6-8 at TRYC.  Winner qualifies to National Tournament.
