Freshman Vicki Landwehr had a tremendous opening weekend for
the Hutchinson softball team, hitting .636 in a 3-1 weekend
for the Lady Dragons. Landwehr had at least one hit on all
four games played, scored eight runs and stole four bases.

Hesston College centerfielder Samantha Brouwer helped the
Larks open the season with a pair of wins over Tabor College
as she reached base six times in the doubleheader. Brouwer,
a sophomore from Moundridge, went a combined 5-for-6 with a
walk. She also scored three runs, drove in a run and stole
two bases as Hesston won by scores of 6-5 and 10-0.
